"Now It's Dark: David Lynch Tribute" is an album made by Russian experimental sound artists dedicated to the famous film director and musician David Lynch, and produced by the kultFRONT label with the support of Zhelezobeton Distribution Division.

The idea of a tribute to Lynch first appeared when Sal Solaris recorded the track "With Me" for "The Black Square" compilation (KF-VI, 2006), using samples from the movie "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me". The digital EP "Lynch" featuring compositions by Tsaraas, DMT and Bardoseneticcube (KF-XVII, 2012) followed several years later but only now the time has come for a full-length album.

Eleven projects from the Russian dark underground scene have presented their own visions of the mysterious and meditative atmospheres pervading the works of the American tenebrous genius: Reutoff, Light Collapse, Dvory, Skripp, Wunderblock, Relic Radiation, Kryptogen Rundfunk, Sal Solaris, Arcuation, Povarovo and DMT.

Overall sound mastering was done by Arnold_pR (Reutoff). Artwork of the 6-panel digipak features a fragment of the painting "Special Agent Gorgon Cole" by Chris Mars. The edition is limited to two hundred copies.

"Now It's Dark: David Lynch Tribute" - альбом-посвящение известному кинорежиссёру и музыканту Дэвиду Линчу от русских звуковых экспериментаторов, изданный лейблом культФРОНТ при поддержке Zhelezobeton Distribution Division.

Идея трибьюта Линчу впервые появилась, когда проект Sal Solaris записал трек "With Me" для сборника "Чёрный квадрат" (KF-VI, 2006), используя сэмплы из фильма "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me". Через несколько лет последовал цифровой EP "Lynch" с композициями от Tsaraas, DMT и Bardoseneticcube (KF-XVII, 2012), но до полноформатной компиляции дело дошло только сейчас.

Одиннадцать проектов отечественного тёмного андерграунда представили каждый своё собственное видение загадочной и медитативной атмосферы произведений сумрачного американского гения: Reutoff, Light Collapse, Dvory, Skripp, Wunderblock, Relic Radiation, Kryptogen Rundfunk, Sal Solaris, Arcuation, Povarovo и DMT.

Общий мастеринг сборника выполнил Arnold_pR (Reutoff). В оформлении 6-панельного дигипака использована картина Криса Марса "Специальный агент Гордон Коул". Тираж издания ограничен двумя сотнями копий.

My original plan was to go through and buy individual tracks like I do with most compilation albums, but honestly there are just so many good ones that I wound up buying the whole thing. More than simple drones (though there are plenty of those, too), this album collects many of the best and most innovative dark ambient artists in one place, including many who are new to me.
